FISHMAN RARE EARTHS UPDATED.
RE-VOICED, NEW SHAPE AND MOUNTING SYSTEM
The Fishman Rare Earth series of magnetic soundhole pickups have been updated.They've been re-voiced to feature a warmer Bass, a Mid-Cut, and a brighter sparkling treble response.
The case shape has been altered to enhance the looks when mounted in the guitar soundhole, and the clamping mounts are much more positive.
I have to say that Fishman have done a great job.
The sound of these new Rare Earths is as close as you can get to the original Mimesis pickups.
The pre amp and battery arrangement stays the same.

Simon Mayor Mandolin
Now available is the 'Simon Mayor' model mandolin and new Vanden F5. Peter Mix (Rigel Mandolins, USA) has taken delivery of a Simon Mayor mandolin.

Available as an option on all Vanden archtop guitars: an updated version of the system, as featured on the Martin Taylor 'Artistry'.

Edge wheel controls are used instead of traditional pots, the advantages being a cleaner look to the pickguard and no interference with right-hand technique. Controls for volume, balance and active tone. The whole system, including battery, pre-amp and Mimesis humbucker, fit to the pickguard as one complete, removable unit. Piezo is built into the bridge.

Guitars
Martin Taylor visited Mike in Strontian to collect the prototype 'Gypsy'.

Martin plays the Martin Taylor 'Artistry' 003 while friend Ernie tries out the prototype 'Gypsy'.

 

Mimesis Pickups
Fishman Neo-D Mike was involved in the design of the new Fishman Neo-D passive guitar pickup.
