MAYA ARCHTOP GUITAR

 

Maya, a brand new archtop guitar. The design brief was to build a guitar with contemporary styling and playability, plus uncompromising sound and build quality.

The body size (16.5” ), shape, and a scale length of 650mm, were important considerations in achieving the desired sound and sleek looks.The cutaway is very much in the European style, giving easy access to the upper registars.

Acoustically the response is very open and airy, beautifully defined, with a unique voice.

The headstock features macassar ebony, birdseye maple insert, bindings, and truss rod cover, with black/red dyed maple line detail, and engraved mop Vanden logo.
Body and fingerboard bindings from birdseye maple, with purflings from black/white/red dyed maple.
Pickguard and tailpiece are a combination of macassar ebony, birdseye maple, and black/red dyed maple lines. Magnetic pickup casing is from birdseye maple with black dyed maple line detail.
Pickup system features a Mimesis Humbucker, a DPA 4061 omni mic, and Mimesis Jazz Blend preamps and battery pcb’s. All mounted from the pickguard. Output is blended mono using the pcb mounted edge wheels for blend, tone
( magnetic only ) and master volume.
