Two thinned coats of clear cellulose are applied over the colour
dyes to seal the surfaces. The bindings are then scraped. Two tinting
coats are sprayed to give the bindings an aged look. A further 10
- 12 coats of thinned cellulose are applied, flatting between coats.
The finish is then left to cure and shrink before final flatting
and polishing.
